Ghanaian Actress Ivy Adjimah who has starred in movies like, Taxi Driver, Omanbapa, Muddy Places and last but not the least YOLO Tv series, is much passionate about kids and the well been of their education in their communities and the country at large. Ms Ivy who is hails from Hohoe in the Volta region of Ghana has for the past few years together with her foundation helped many deprived communities of better schooling systems in the country.
In 2014-2015, she help established a school in Adakpo in the north Tongu District of the Volta Region. The chiefs and people of the Adakpo community were really grateful for this gesture by a single actress towards them. Ms Adjimah disclosed to us that, because of the various locations they do visits during movie shoots, she gets to know whole lots of remote or deprived communities thereby promoting her and her team to solve parts the problems these remote areas encounter. Her passion is for every little to go to school regardless of where they find themselves. It has always be my will for every child in Ghana to be the classrooms to get the best of education, she said. But even if this children are willing to go school, because there are no adequate structures a put in place for them, they have no choice than to study under unfavorable conditions in these communities, which has been Ms Ivy Adjimah’s biggest challenge she is trying to deal with. Even though the government is doing all it can to also eradicate most schools under trees and poor school conditions, Ivy feels government can’t do it all alone but also add her little in one way or the other to help Ghana become a better place in terms of good school education.
With her next School project which is under construction at the St. James Methodist Basic School for their kindergarten department in AXIM located in the western Region of Ghana, She has urged the society or the Ghanaian populace not to leave it up to only the government to do developmental projects for the nation, but also aid in their own ways aid in doing so. The school blocks project consist of 4 classroom blocks designed for the lower primary level students who are currently not under good condition as she visited them over the course of the week, and promised them work will soon be completed in due time and handed over to the school administration.
Ms Ivy Adjimah who holds a bachelor’s degree in Publishing Studies from the KNUST and a master’s degree in economic Policy management from the University of Ghana , therefore one could tell the desire she has for proper education when she says every child should get good and quality educational background. With this initiative with the chiefs and people of AXIM traditional area, she has pledge to complete it in due date for the children suffering under trees will also enjoy like any other Ghanaian child in school.
