Bernard Kwesi Appiah who is a Ghanaian Rapper and a performer, born on the 10th of June 1990 to Mr & Mrs. Appiah widely known as KWESI SLAY. His musical journey started back to his Senior High School days, where he was popularly known for his Rap punchlines and flows, but started recording professionally as a musician in 2012.
During our conversations with the musician, we asked him where his source of wealth comes from and where he draws his inspirations from. He starts by saying that, he draws his musical inspiration from the likes of American Rappers Jay Z, Kanye West, and legendary Ghanaian Rapper Obrafour to do good Rap music.
The young ambitious youth from the slums of Ashaiman were is been motivated to work harder by the conditions which confronted during his growing up stages in life to serve his people and the rest of the world as an artist coming out from that part of the country as a Rapper. He had problems with getting good management in his early career days with the release of 3y3 normal which featured Uptown energy front liner Yaa Pono and the release of 16 bars that also featured Bra Chicky of Gallaxy fame all in 2015, but all these songs didn’t get that massive air plays because of promotional and management issues as a young artist trying to make it in life.
Fast forward to 2017, Kwesi Slay tells a story to the ghetto youth with a street anthem featuring SARIKI titled ‘StreetWays’. After the release of this song, He has got the chance to be on several platforms to perform with the song which then expanded his territory. He then formed his own record label Slay Nation Records.
Under Slay Nation Records, which is managed by his close friends who have always believed in his dreams and aspiration as a great rapper, he went further to release another stunning banger with BET Viewer’s Choice Award nominee Kwesi Arthur dubbed SEVEN which become an automatic hit across the country and beyond.
Referring him back to the question again about his source of wealth after the release of all these songs, the rapper disclosed to zoinfelix in a video we chanced on zionfelix youtube channel, that most of his wealth came from selling houses, cars and a whole lots of other businesses he is into. So the perception people have about him being a SAKAWA BOY or FRAUD BOY is false and never true.
He continued to educate the general public to make use of the little money they make than spending it anyhow and not saving for the future. The rapper claims to have five well-established businesses that are running for him.
